I believe that students learn science best by doing science. In my class we focus on hands-on and minds-on learning. I work to build important scientific skills within my students such as scientific literacy, visual literacy, organization skills, and creativity. Students in my classroom are encouraged and supported to become life long learners and explorers. 

I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges; I completed a major in Biology with a minor in Environmental Policy. I am also a Teach For America alumni, having completed my service as a member of the Mississippi Delta corps. I hold Master of Education Degree in science curriculum and instruction from George Mason University.
